Electrolux Microwave Repair

    • 1). Take a look at the microwave's power supply. The power cable could have been accidentally unplugged to make room for another appliance or jiggled loose in the outlet. It's a good idea to check the basics first so you don't waste time later. Ensure the outlet is switched on, if necessary, and the outlet is supplying electricity. No electricity is a sign of a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

    • 2). Press "User Pref" then "Stop/Clear" to disable the child lock on the oven. "Child Lock Off" appears on the LCD display when the lock is canceled. The oven is completely deactivated while the child lock is switched on so children cannot operate the microwave without an adult present. Press "User Pref," "1" then "Start" to reactivate the lock.

    • 3). Hit "Stop/Clear" a few times. The internal computer may not have understood the instructions you entered. This step returns the oven to standby mode so you can enter your cooking instructions a second time. Always remember to hit "Start" when you're ready to cook.

    • 4). Check that the turntable inside oven is still in place. Your food won't be cooked evenly unless the turntable is installed correctly and able to turn. Remove the glass plate and plastic support and wash them in a sink of hot, soapy water. Wipe down the inside of the microwave, removing any food stains. Dry everything and replace the plastic support and turntable. Dried food residue restricts the turntable's movement, resulting in uneven cooking.

    • 5). Verify that the plate or container you are using to cook your food fits on the turntable. Your food won't be cooked properly unless the food is able to rotate through a full 360 degrees without hitting the sides. Ensure the plate or container isn't putting pressure on the door, causing the sensor to think the door is ajar. The microwave won't start until the computer detects the door is shut.
