- Star Wars Battlefront II allows players the option to play the game however they please, in either the first-person or the third-person mode. In first-person mode, you are better able to aim accurately at your target, making long-distance sniping with the assault rifle (as the sniper automatically goes into first-person) much easier. However, the third-person viewpoint gives players a better view of the battlefield and makes it easier to see when you're being shot from behind.
The choice is yours and is based purely on personal preference, but knowing the advantages and disadvantages of each will help you make up your mind. - Flying has been made much easier in Star Wars Battlefront II, but it still takes getting used to. Learn the basics of flying by playing in space levels. These stages give the player tons of space to maneuver without risk of crashing into a mountainside or a sand dune. While you might be tempted to play around with doing barrel rolls, they only have a marginal effect against the computer. Against other human players, barrel rolls have almost no effect. Master sharp turns and speed adjusting, and leave the flashy tricks to the newbies.
- When playing on the Elite difficulty, awards are easier to earn. For example, instead of needing four awards to unlock a medal, you will only need three. Of course, the trade-off is that earning a single medal is much more difficult than it would be on other difficulties. However, you can get the Elite scoring system while having a Normal game difficulty by playing through a game on Elite, then switching the difficulty to Normal. The enemies will be easier to eliminate, but the awards will still be given out at the discounted Elite rate.
