- The SYNC is a flip phone that measures 3.7-inches tall when folded shut. The phone also measures 2-inches wide -- whether open or closed -- and 0.7-inches thick. The SYNC weighs 3.4 ounces.
The display on the Samsung SYNC measures 2.3-inches diagonally. The display has a resolution of 240 by 320 pixels. - The SYNC is more than just a phone -- it's a music player as well. The phone allows users to download music selections from the web, using the SYNC's web browsing function, as well as upload music using a USB cable connected to a computer. MP3 files of 600 kilobytes (KB) are stored in the phone as ring tones, while files larger than 600 KB are stored in the SYNC's music folder and cannot be set as ring tones. In addition to MP3 file extensions, the SYNC can also play AAC, WMA, MP4. M4A and MPEG files. Users can store songs as individual files, or as a playlist.
- The SYNC uses a rechargeable and replaceable lithium ion battery. Samsung reports that this battery can give users up to four hours of talk time, or up 240 hours of standby time between charges.
- The Samsung SYNC comes with many features as standard equipment, including a 2-megapixel camera which shoots pictures and video, email and instant messaging capabilities and web browsing. Users who wish to transfer pictures or video between their SYNC and another device can do so using a Micro SD memory card, as the SYNC has a slot for this type of external memory. The phone is also Bluetooth and USB compatible, but it does not offer GPS. GPS is also not available as an upgraded feature on this model.
- Samsung and AT&T no longer sell the SGH-A707 model. Samsung still offers customer support to consumers who already own this phone. Information on the product, including downloadable updates, are available through Samsung's product support website.
