- The Mississippi Resident Tuition Assistance Grant provides up to $500 a year for freshmen and sophomores and up to $1,000 per year for juniors and seniors. Students can receive the grant for up to eight semesters of college. Eligibility requires students to have a 2.5 high school grade-point average and at least a 15 ACT score or a 720 SAT score. Students also must be enrolled full-time and must have at least one year as a Mississippi resident.
- The HELP grant provides assistance for students whose family adjusted gross income over the past two years averaged $36,500 or less (as of 2011). The grant provides aid up to the amount of tuition for a public institution. Students who qualify are eligible for 10 semesters of aid. To be eligible, students must have at least a 2.5 high school GPA, two years as a Mississippi resident and a 20 or higher ACT score. Students also must complete the required high school core curriculum, which is established by the state.
- The MESG provides up to $2,500 per year for tuition and fees. The grant cannot exceed the total cost of tuition and fees. The grant is limited to eight semesters. Students must have a 3.5 high school GPA and a 29 ACT or 1280 SAT to qualify. Students also must have one year of residency in Mississippi. The grant is not need-based.
- Students who are seeking a Bachelor's degree can earn a scholarship toward tuition by agreeing to serve for one year as a licensed classroom teacher for a public school district in Mississippi. Students who fail to meet the requirement must repay the amount of the scholarship as a loan. The scholarship award is equal to the cost of tuition and fees plus room and board. Students must have a 2.5 or higher high school GPA to be eligible. Students also must be a junior or senior at one of the state's four-year public institutions.
- This scholarship program covers the full cost of tuition, fees and campus housing for up to eight semesters. Eligibility is limited to students who are the children or spouses of a law enforcement officer or firefighter killed or permanently disabled. The scholarships are only available to Mississippi residents.
