My house was built in 2001, and following the building code, came with low flow toilets that don't work well and wimpy low flow shower heads. My gym opened several years later, and their low flow shower heads were certainly better than the ones at home. Recently, however, the gym replaced all of its shower heads with new ones from Oxygenics®. They feel like the old days, when a shower head blasted out water with abandon.

Oxygenics® shower heads operate on the Venturi effect, similar to putting your thumb over a garden hose. By running water through constricted openings, they increase its velocity. That actually lowers the water pressure, but it sure doesn't feel like it. Besides constricted openings, the inner workings of Oxygenics®  shower heads include an accelerator fin.
