- 1). Confirm that power is off to the circuit the fan will be connected to.
- 2). Remove cover on fan wiring box.
- 3). Remove wiring access slug and insert strain relief cable connector in the opening. From the inside of the fan wiring box, thread the nut onto the strain relief cable connector, and tighten.
- 4). Insert the cable coming from the fan wall switch through the strain relief cable connector.
- 5). Connect the black wire of the cable in Step 4 to the black wire of the fan. Twist the wires together tightly. Install a wire nut. Wrap tape around the wire nut and wires to complete the connection.
- 6). Connect the white wire of the cable to the white wire of the fan. Twist the wires together tightly. Install a wire nut. Wrap tape around the wire nut and wires to complete the connection.
- 7). Connect the bare ground wire to the fan ground wire. Twist the wires together tightly. Install a wire nut. Wrap tape around the wire nut and wires to complete the connection. If the fan does not have a ground wire, locate the green ground screw inside the housing and attach the bare ground wire to the screw.
- 8). Install fan wiring box cover.
- 9). Tighten the clamp of the strain relief cable connector.
