- 1). Unplug the electrical cord of the washing machine from the outlet before you attempt to gain access to the drain hose.
- 2). Remove the end caps on the control console by pressing in with your thumbs on the caps and pulling out to detach them.
- 3). Locate the screws on the front of the control console and unfasten them with a screwdriver, setting the screws out of the way.
- 4). Flip the control console back so it is resting on the rear hinges and unplug the lid switch connector on the top of the washer near the back, lifting the connector up off the metal prongs by hand.
- 5). Locate the metal clips on the top of the washer near the back and pry the clips up with a screwdriver, removing them from the washer top.
- 6). Pull the top of the washer off the cabinet base, setting it out of the way, and locate the water pump at the bottom of the cabinet in the front.
- 7). Locate the two hoses on the back of the pump and identify the drain hose, which leads from the pump to the back of the washer.
