- 1). Scoop excess butter off the upholstery.
- 2). Cover the remaining butter stain with baking soda. Let the baking soda absorb the residue for 15 minutes.
- 3). Vacuum the baking soda using the vacuum's brush attachment. Extract all baking soda from the upholstery.
- 4). Dampen a dye-free cloth with dry-cleaning solvent. Blot the remaining butter residue until the upholstery absorbs all of the solvent.
- 5). Check the upholstery for remaining butter. If any butter persists, repeat the entire procedure.
