- 1). Clean the tools thoroughly with a degreasing cleaner and a rag. Remove all grease and residue from the surface of the tools. Use a cotton swab to work into any crevices that you can't reach with a rag. Rinse the tools and allow them to dry.
- 2). Put on rubber gloves. Dip a soft clean rag or old t-shirt into the aluminum polish. Rub the polish onto the tool in a circular motion. Work the polish into the tool until the surface turns black.
- 3). Apply polish to the tip of a cotton swab and work the polish into the harder to reach parts of the tool.
- 4). Pick up a new, clean rag. Remove the black residue with the clean cloth. Wipe the polish from the crevices with a clean cotton swab.
- 5). Buff the finish to a shine with another clean, soft cloth.
- 6). Apply a sealant to the surface of the aluminum to preserve the shine. Dip a rag into the sealant and rub into the surface of the tool.
