- 1). Clear the area where the pool will sit, removing any sharp objects such as stones, sticks or shells.
- 2). Attach a level to a 2x4x8 by wrapping duct tape around both ends of the level and the 2x4x8.
- 3). Lay the 2x4 level down on its edge, with the level side up, in the pool area, observing where the bubble sits within the level.
- 4). Assess how much dirt must be removed or added based on the level readings. It's recommended to remove dirt rather than add, unless there is an unusually low area.
- 5). Use the shovel and steel rake to methodically scrape the dirt away, continuously re-checking the level by moving it from area to area. Do this until the entire pool area is level.
- 6). Lay down a protective pad for your pool. You can use a tarp that is larger than the pool base or spread medium grade sand around the area, once again using the level.
- 7). Lay your pool down in the designated area, removing as many wrinkles as possible by pulling the sides outward until the floor is taut. Use a helper.
- 8). Inflate the ring using an air pump or air compressor.
- 9). Place a garden hose into the center of the pool and begin filling.
- 10
Turn the water off when a height of 3 inches is achieved. Get into the pool, and on your hands and knees work the remaining wrinkles out of the pool floor by pushing the wrinkles toward the pool walls. When this is complete, turn the water on and continue filling the pool. - 11
Stop adding water when the water level is 2 inches below the skimmer opening and/or the return flow opening. - 12
Attach the skimmer gasket and frame on the inside of the pool using a Phillips head screwdriver, then attach the skimmer and hose on the outside of the pool using a hose clamp and regular screwdriver. - 13
Attach the return hose hardware on the inside of the pool using a Phillips head screwdriver, then attach the hose on the outside of the pool using a hose clamp and regular screwdriver. - 14
Continue filling the pool until the water level is 3 inches below the inflatable ring.
