How to Remove Glue Marks

    • 1). Place a piece of duct tape over the mark. Gently rub your finger over the duct tape to ensure bonding, and pull the duct tape off. With a little luck, most of the glue mark will come with it.

    • 2). Scrape off as much of the glue mark as possible with a plastic spatula. Pour a few drops of vegetable oil onto the mark. Let it sit for several hours. The oil will break down the chemical structure of the glue, which will make it much easier to remove.

    • 3). Pour a few drops of vegetable oil onto a cotton swab. Start at one end of the mark and gently wipe over the area in circular motions. Slowly work your way to the other end, until the glue mark is completely gone.

    • 4). Wipe the area with a warm soapy wash cloth to remove the oil and glue residue. Dry the surface with a clean towel.

    • 5). Apply heat to surfaces that cannot tolerate oil. Set a hairdryer on medium heat 6 inches from the glue mark. When the mark becomes soft, scrub it with a warm soapy wash cloth until all of the glue has lifted. The heat will loosen the glue bond and make it easier to remove the glue mark.
