How to Take Care of Black Hair for Boys

    • 1). Shampoo the hair once every seven to 10 days. Use a gentle moisturizing shampoo made for children. Use for ingredients such as emollients, botanicals and essential oils. Wet the hair in lukewarm water, massage a quarter-size of shampoo into hair and rinse out completely with lukewarm water.

    • 2). Apply a moisturizing conditioner to the hair. Use enough to cover the boy's hair. Leave in for three to five minutes then rinse out completely in lukewarm water.

    • 3). Comb wet hair with a wide-toothed comb. This removes any tangles.

    • 4). Dry hair with a towel. Another option is to let hair air-dry. Because boys' hair is often short, blow-drying is not necessary. In fact, blow-drying should be avoided with black hair. The heat is very drying to the hair.
