- 1). Right-click an empty area of your desktop and select "Screen Resolution."
- 2). Click the "Resolution" drop-down menu and choose a resolution that uses a 4:3 width-to-height ratio, such as "800 x 600," "1024 x 768" or "1280 x 960." For other resolutions, divide the first number by the second number of the resolution. If you get a quotient of 1.333, then the resolution is normal format.
- 3). Click "OK" to apply the new settings.
- 4). Click "Keep Settings" to preserve your selection. Otherwise, the resolution will revert back to its original configuration after 15 seconds.
