The days of leaving pets at home or in kennels when taking a Myrtle Beach vacation are long over. While the popular South Carolina travel destination is known for its inviting beaches, fabulous golf, fine dining and shopping, it also has something special to offer pet lovers. A number of hotels, both near the beach and oceanfront, are pet-friendly. Better yet, the City of Myrtle Beach allows leashed dogs on the beach anytime after Labor Day to April 30. Dogs are also allowed on the beach before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m. other times of the year. Two off-leash dog parks provide fun for dogs of all sizes. - The Sheraton offers inviting lodging for pet lovers.dog image by Michal Tudek from Fotolia.com
