What Is the Difference Between a Sony Str 7055 & a Str 7055A?

    • The STR 7055 is a Sony made stereo receiver manufactured from 1973 to 1978. One head phone jack and one auxiliary jack are available on this unit and the receiver is not equipped with speakers. Alternating current supplies are (AC) 100, 120, 220 and 240 watts.

    STR 7055A

    • The Sony STR 7055A is stereo receiver produced from 1976 to 1977. One head phone jack and one auxiliary jack are available on this unit. Outside speakers are required. Alternating current supplies are (AC) 100, 110, 120, 220 and 240 watts.

    • Side by side these two stereo receivers appear identical. All buttons and auxiliary jacks are located in the same position on the receiver face plates. The AM/FM radio window is also in the same position. The only physical difference between the two systems is the power cord. The STR-7055 has a power cord built into the unit while the STR-7055A has a removable power cord.
