- 1). Vacuum your microfiber sectional before any spot lifting or stain removal attempts. Use a soft bristle vacuum attachment to thoroughly vacuum all the cushions and the frame. Do this once each week as a part of regular maintenance. Removing dust, dirt and debris regularly will help prevent discoloration.
- 2). Remove any slip covers or cushion covers if possible. Wash them in cold water with a mild detergent such as Woolite, Dreft or Dove. Set the wash to a delicate cycle with a cold water wash and rinse.
- 3). Tumble covers dry on a low or air-dry setting. You can also hang them to air dry.
- 4). Mix 1 pint of warm water with a few drops of liquid detergent. Moisten a white rag with the cleaning mixture and dab it on the non-removable areas of the sectional that you need to clean.
- 5). Blot up the moisture with another clean, white towel. Repeat the dabbing and blotting until the spot is clean.
- 6). Remove as much moisture as you can by blotting with the towel. Use a hair dryer on low heat to dry the spot completely.
- 7). Restore the nap of the microfiber by gently brushing it with a soft bristle brush when it is dry.
