- 1). Go to your local library and ask the front desk librarian about the location of medieval reference material; alternatively, should your library have an online catalog, log onto your library's website and enter search terms such as "knights" or "medieval" in the search engine.
- 2). Jot down the call numbers of the books resulting from your search; these books will generally show information about knights in the form of reprinted woodcarvings from the Middle Ages or a contemporary artist's interpretation.
- 3). Trace the drawings, using the tracing paper should you need the picture for reference; alternatively, make a photocopy of the drawing(s), using the library's copier machine.
- 4). Check historical exhibits at a local museum should you be within reasonable distance. Museums often will have similar works of art depicting knights and may have books related to the subject in the museum gift shop.
- 5). Log online to the website of Howard David Johnson, an artist renowned for his lifelike paintings, drawings and etchings of medieval icons like King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and historical figures fighting during the Crusades.
