Sometimes, the best gifts are actually homemade. For the kids, something as simple as a handmade gift shows effort on the child's part. Likewise, offering to complete a few chores around the house - even if just for a week - takes a load off of mom's back, allowing her to get some rest.
There really is no such thing as a bad gift, if it truly comes from the heart and you put some thought into what you purchase.
