The home lives of students are much different.
What is taught in childrens ministry is much different and the level of church attendance overall has been declining.
Because of this we are now dealing with a completely different generation of students than what was around when we grew up.
Many of the needs and struggles are still the same but the knowledge and experience they have is different.
This is why when you begin to come up with girls ministry ideas you need to pretend like every student is a blank slate.
This does not mean that we think they are clueless, dumb, or incapable of doing anything great.
On the contrary, we believe they can be great but that there are certain building blocks that they need.
Then as we work on ways to instill these building blocks of our faith in them we can decide where we go next.
If we realize we have a group that does have a lot of biblical knowledge then we can move on to bigger and better things.
If we have a group that is aware of the needs in their community and is already involved in service in those areas then we can challenge and push them to do more.
The key here is that we are still working towards the same goal we just must realize that we need to start in a little different place than many of us had originally thought.
Having this attitude as you come up with girls ministry ideas might cause you to not be popular.
People may think you are not treating the students with enough respect or challenging them enough.
But do not worry.
Having this attitude will allow you to reach students at all levels and it will allow you to challenge them to live the lives of greatness they have been called to.
