Veja and Sierra"s Leprechaun Trap

This leprechaun trap was made by 11-year-old Veja and Sierra.

They explained, "Our Leprechaun Trap was made with a cardboard box, clear acetate for the door which slides down in the front (because you can't take your eyes off a leprechaun or he disappears), branches, green craft paper, acrylic paints, a Lucky Puff pastry to feed him and gold coins stuck in the pastry on the box to lure him in. We also used a flashlight stuck into a hole in the side of the box to light up the pastry and coin bait!

Inside the box, under the bait, was a green, plastic, Irish hat; Easter grass (also on the roof); and gold glitter. We used a pinwheel and a green and gold Mylar chain on top as well.

We are friends who worked on this together for our 5th grade class in Illinois for extra credit."
