- 1). Draft the articles of incorporation in the presence of an Albanian notary public. The articles of incorporation give the details about the company mission, location, assets, and general structure. In addition to the articles of incorporation, you will also need a company "statute" and an "Eventual special proxy to an attorney", and both must also be notarized. An attorney can draw up all needed documents, and this fee will obviously vary depending on the attorney, but this step will cost approximately ALL$8,700 (ALL$1 = USD$0.01). You should also request that your attorney perform a name search to assure that your chosen name is not currently in use. This step takes just one day to complete.
- 2). Register with the National Registration Center (NRC) for a Registration Certification and business identification number. The national registration center operates as a one-stop registration center, where the entrepreneur can not only register her business, but also register for taxation, health insurance, social insurance and register for the labor directorate with a single application. Registration takes only one day and the total process will cost ALL$100.
- 3). Register for taxes with the "Municipality Bureau of Internal Revenue." All Albanian companies must render tax payments to the revenue, and may do so at a banking institution, or at the post office--proof of payment is required. The tax fees that must be paid are as follows: green tax (ALL$5,000); environmental tax (ALL$15,000); billboard fee (ALL$1,500 to $3,000); and property tax (ALL$100 per square meter annually).
- 4). Purchase a corporate seal for your business. At this stage, you will need a corporate seal, which can be obtained from any authorized stationary supplier or office supply shop. The price of the company seal will vary according to the vendor, but the cost will be between ALL$3,000 and $5,000. The processing of the seal is done the same day.
- 5). Secure a location. If you have not already secured a location for your business, now is the time to do so. You will want to look for areas that have increased visibility and traffic, if your business is based on tangible goods sold to the general public. At this time you will have met all official tax requirements to promote and conduct your business.
