  "Lost in the City" is a chapter-based hidden object game for Mac and PC. You start with chapter one and work your way up to chapter 40. According to Gamezebo.com, the game is a mixture of a point and click adventure with hidden objects to find in each scene. The goal is to help the main character regain his memory and discover where and why he's been abandoned.
  
  

Use the SOS Button

• Trying to beat the timer isn't easy. The "SOS" button is there to get you out of a jam. Click it for a hint when you're stuck. If it's taking too long to find an item, hit the button and move on. The "SOS" button deducts one minute from the clock, so only use it if you need it. Also, make sure you're not in magnifying glass mode when you click it. You can't see the hint when the scene is enlarged by the magnifying glass.
  
  

Use the Magnifying Glass

• Finding items in this game is a challenge. Some of the items are clearly noticeable. However, in some cases the items are small or partially hidden behind other objects. Using the magnifying glass serves two purposes.
  
  First of all, the magnifying glass enlarges small areas. If you're playing in Classic mode, you only have 10 minutes to complete each level. The magnifying glass helps you find smaller items much quicker. As a result you're more likely to beat the clock.
  
  Second of all, the magnifying glass allows you to accurately click on an item. Clicking in the wrong area earns you one strike. You have to click directly on the item you're trying to get. Clicking close isn't good enough. If you get three wrong clicks, you're hit with a one minute penalty.
  
  

Pay Close Attention to the Item List

• The items you need to find are listed on a sheet of paper to your right. Items are scratched off the list as you find them. You must pay close attention to this list. Sometimes when you find an item its name on the list is replaced with instructions on how to use it. You might need to use the item on an object to help you find another item on the list.
  
  Here's how it works: One scene in the game contains a hammer. You find it and the word "hammer" is scratched off your list. The word is replaced with "use the hammer." Search around for things to hit with the hammer. In this case, there's a bust sitting on a table. Break it with the hammer. Inside the bust you find a key. The key is an item on your list. You would have never found the key if you hadn't used the hammer first.
