- 1). Listen to bands like NoFx, Millencolin, Papa Roach, Dependents and Bad Religion for inspiration. Think about how you feel when you listen to the music; incorporate it into your look. Check out the clothing styles in skateboarding magazines, such as "Thrasher." Skater punk is half fashion, half attitude.
- 2). Cut your hair so that it is spiky or buzz it off completely. Styling your hair in liberty spikes or a Mohawk will also fit into skater punk. Dye your hair black or be creative and bleach sections. Keep it simple.
- 3). Wear loose, baggy shorts like Dickies in black or navy blue. Straight-leg jeans and pants will work too. Keep in mind that it is a mix of punk and skater. Therefore, you are going to want to be able to move on a skateboard. Wear plain, dark-colored T-shirts or shirts with logos like a band or skateboarding company.

Purchase some skater shoes such as DC, Airwalks or Converse. Look to see if the shoes have flat soles. If so, they're perfect. Wear some solid-color wrist sweat bands. Put on a studded belt; this is one of the key accessories in skater punk. Wear dark-colored knee-high socks as well if you are wearing shorts. - 5). Learn how to skateboard. Looking like a skater punk is half of it; you will look like a poser if you don't know how to skate. Carry around a skateboard to get around, this will help you practice and show people that you are a skater punk.
