- 1). Put on protective equipment including rubber gloves, goggles and clothing that covers your arms and legs. Put on a high-efficiency dust mask to prevent mold spores from being inhaled into your lungs.
- 2). Spray the laminated wood with water mixed with several drops of mild dishwashing detergent. This will dislodge the mold from the wood. Let the mixture sit on the mold for at least 10 minutes.
- 3). Scrub the mold growth with a soft-bristled scrubbing brush. Do not use hard or metal bristles as it can damage the surface of the laminated wood.
- 4). Spray a bleach-based cleaner on the area to disinfect it. Leave it on the area for several minutes according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- 5). Wipe the area with paper towels until it is completely dry.
