  Barren River is a river in southern Kentucky. In 1964, the US Army Corps of Engineers impounded the river, creating the Barren River Lake, which occupies parts of Allen, Barren, and Monroe counties. Along the shore of the lake, on the southern side, is the Barren River Lake State Resort Park, which was a large park dedicated in 1965 that accommodates hiking, fishing and boating activities. Whether you want to stay in the resort, or go off-park, lodging is available to you in the area.
  
  

Louie B Nunn Lodge

• The Louie B Nunn Lodge is actually part of and run by the Barren River Lake State Resort Park. The resort has 51 rooms, surrounded by rolling, green hills with accessible walking and hiking trails, and right next to the Barren River Lake for your fishing needs. Each room is equipped with two queen sized beds and a balcony which either overlooks the lake, or the wooded area behind the resort. Wireless Internet is available throughout the building, and there are ice machines and vending machines on every floor. Each room also contains a large television with satellite channels. Cottages are also available to rent in various places inside the park. The cottages sleep eight people--doing so with two bedrooms and a fold-out sofa. The cottages have a full kitchen, and a living room with a fireplace and vaulted ceilings.

The Narrow Way Bed and Breakfast

• The Narrow Way Bed and Breakfast is located just north of the Barren River Lake State Park, just 2 minutes from the Narrows boat ramp and marina. The bed and breakfast offers six rooms to choose from, and depending on the room, includes such amenities as a jacuzzi tub, glass brick shower for two, fireplace, satellite T.V., and children's area with bunk beds. There are common bathrooms as needed, as well as a microwave and refrigerator. Each morning, a large breakfast will be made for each of the guests as they wake up for their day at Barren River.

The Four Seasons Country Inn B & B

• The Four Seasons Country Inn is another bed and breakfast about a mile north of the Barren River Lake. The home was made into a Victorian-style inn, which is still fully equipped with up-to-date amenities and conveniences. They offer fresh linens and a complimentary breakfast every morning that includes: muffins, pastries, cereal, yogurt, fruit, juices, milk, and coffee. The inn has 21 rooms, each of which contain wing-back chairs, writing desks, and queen-sized, four poster beds. Refrigerators, television with cable and HBO, private bathrooms with hairdryers, and individual A/C units are available in all rooms, for the guests' convenience. The common areas include an outdoor pool, a fireplace, and sitting room to play cards in. Both smoking and non-smoking rooms are available.
