- 1). Wipe the area with a damp cloth as soon as the paint gets on the shoe. When the paint is still wet, it is very simple to remove and will not require any chemicals. Be careful not to rub the paint into the shoe fibers.
- 2). Apply some paint thinner to a dry cloth and gently rub the affected area. This will soften the paint. Only use a little paint thinner at a time to ensure the chemical does not ruin the shoe.
- 3). Clean the paint off using a solvent such as turpentine or pure alcohol. Apply some of the solvent to a dry cloth and wipe away the paint. This will be easier if the area has already been treated with paint thinner.
