Installing Lower Control Arms in a Hyundai

    • 1). Lift the front of the Hyundai with the jack. Put jack stands underneath the vehicle's chassis. Take off the front wheels with the lug wrench.

    • 2). Unbolt the sway bar from the lower control arm with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Unbolt the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket, then unbolt the lower control arm from the mounts on the inside of the chassis using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench. Pull the lower control arm out of the front suspension.

    • 3). Lift the replacement lower control arm into the chassis and bolt it in place with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket and an open-end wrench. Lift the other end into the steering knuckle and bolt it to the steering knuckle with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.

    • 4). Bolt the sway bar to the lower control arm with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Reinstall the front wheels with the lug wrench, then lower the vehicle to the ground with the jack.
