There is one thing every one of us has in common.
We are all alive.
Otherwise, I know for a fact that you would not be reading this! The question is, are you living like you are alive? Each one of us has a limited time here on this earth.
If you were to go to the doctor today and they told you that you were dying, what would you do?I know that I would start thinking of all the things I wanted to do but haven't made the time for.
There would be people to see and places I want to go.
I'm afraid I would think of all my regrets before counting my blessings.
If you too would have regrets then you owe it to yourself to do the following exercise.
Take some time to think about the following questions.
If you are serious about enriching your lives, write the answers down.
That way you can read them over when you need a boost in your life.
It is important that you do this now.
I'm not a doctor, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that you will die some day.
Your days on this earth have been numbered since the day you were born.
Don't waste the time that you have left.
What regrets do you have from the past? Are there things you "always wanted to do"? Why haven't you done them? How can you do them now? There are many questions that I wish I had the answer to about my family.
I guess I never wanted to think that some day my mother wouldn't be around to ask.
Now that she is gone, many of the answers died with her.
I regret that I never took the time to talk with her about our family history.
As I contemplate on the above questions, I suddenly realize that it's not too late.
I have other relatives that I could ask.
I had given up, but I now have renewed hope in getting my questions answered.
This is just one example from my life.
Don't stop with just one regret.
Think of all the "I always wanted to"; regrets and dreams from your past.
Then, as I did, brainstorm on how it can become reality.
There is One Rule:You may not use the old "I'm too old" or "I'm too young" or "I'm too busy" excuses.
You have the rest of your life to fulfill your dreams.
Don't waste a minute because that minute may be your last.
At the same time, it probably won't and you will have all the time it takes to do what you want to do.
This is step one to living an enriched life.
Have fun with it.
Set goals as to when you will do each of the things you always wanted to do.
If you don't set goals, time will keep ticking and a year from now you'll still be saying "I always wanted to"?
