- 1). Wipe the door with the microfiber cloth to remove dust.
- 2). Place a small amount of WD-40, non-gel toothpaste or alcohol on a paper towel and rub gently on the marks. Test an application of each substance in a small area to see which best removes the ink while doing no damage to the wood finish. Rub off as much of the marks as you can with the substance that works best.
- 3). Remove any lingering marks with a commercial felt-pen-ink remover, which you can purchase at an office-supply store.
- 4). Touch up the area with a wood-coloring product or stain-repair pen if necessary. Wait for the area to dry completely.
- 5). Dust the door with furniture polish.
