- 1). Turn off the stove and let it cool before you clean it.
- 2). Scrape as much of the plastic off as possible with a butter knife or spatula. Keep the scraper at a 45-degree angle to avoid scratching the surface of the stove.
- 3). Pour or spray mineral spirits onto the remaining plastic and let it soak for 15 minutes. Use a razor blade to scrape off the plastic, keeping it as flat as possible against the stove. You may have to repeat this step several times to get all of the plastic off.
- 4). Apply nail-polish remover with acetone to a cotton ball. Rub the remaining bits of plastic and any stain caused by the plastic with the cotton ball.
- 5). Clean the stove with a glass or all-purpose cleaner and a paper towel to restore shine and clean any residue remaining on the stove.
