House training a dog has to be one of the most important steps in making sure you have a pet that is competent and able to follow the rules of living within the home.
Here are a few house training tips you can teach your dog to be a better companion around the house.
All animals have their own natural instincts and tendencies, in fact they are by nature very clean in their habits.
It is a good idea to teach your dog at a early age rather than leaving it at a later stage, the first thing you must do is to establish your dogs living area or place where they are to sleep and eat.
You need to get them as used to this area as much as possible so try and spend as much time as you can in this area either playing in that area or just comforting them in their living area should they feel like napping.
Once your dog is used to the area you can then start to move her bed around the house as she will be quite familiar with the smells of her bed or blanket, have a leash handy so as to keep the dog in the one place eventually you will not need a leash.
Having a designated area for your dog to soil is most important, you will need to keep a close watch on her at this stage until she gets used to soiling in that particular area.
Knowing the habits of your dogs feeding times and times when they need to soil is another important step, but as you progress through her training you will know when these times will arise.
Once you have established this, you will need to stick to that schedule and make it a habit, so only you will know when, and what times your dog needs to feed and when to soil.
Once you have all this knowledge under your belt you are half way there now all you need to do is to move her sleeping area around the house to get her used to each and every room but eventually you want to confine her to the room that you think will be her living area, as they grow older they will need more space so decide on what part of the house you will ultimately make for her den.
