How to Upload Voices to a TomTom

    • 1). Plug in the TomTom to the computer using the USB cable.

    • 2). Launch "TomTom Home" from the computer. Go to the "Start" menu and then "All Programs." From there, scroll down the menu until "TomTom Home" appears, click it and the program opens. If the program is not installed on the computer, a free download is available from the TomTom website. (See Resources)

    • 3). Select "Add Traffic, Voices, Safety Cameras, Etc." from the TomTom Home start page.

    • 4). Click "Voices," then "Recorded Voices." A menu listing all of the available voices appears. Click "Buy" next to the desired voice.

    • 5). Go back to the start page in TomTom Home and select "Update My Device." A new menu appears with all of the available updates, including the voice that was just purchased.

    • 6). Click the box next to the purchased voice and select "Update and Install." The download begins automatically. When the status bar is steady green all the way through, the update is complete.

    • 7). Select "Device," then "Disconnect Device." Disconnect the TomTom from the computer.
