Somehow, over time I seemed to have accumulated lots of cars, I currently have five.
Too much time and money has been spent over the years insuring all the cars under different policies.
However, last year, I had a chat with a local broker and he told me it was totally pointless insuring them all separately, I could get something called "fleet insurance"..
..
I hadn't heard the term before but I later learned, it basically means you can put all of your vehicles on a single insurance policy.
I figured I could save a lot of time (which is also handy), and after going through a few details with the guy it turns out that a fleet insurance policy would be cheaper to.
Although I often say, "I don't know how I ended up with all these cars" unfortunately I do, I'm a terrible hoarder and an even worse car salesman, I have so much trouble trying to sell cars I simply don't bother trying anymore.
After doing a bit more digging into fleet insurance I found out that you can start a policy with just 3 vehicles and what's more you can include various different types of vehicle such as vans and lorries.
So that's what I did, I vowed to myself to get rid of two of my cars and get the other three on a shiny new fleet insurance policy.
A year and one policy renewal later, my fleet is still going strong.
I was on the phone with my broker today (sorting out the renewal) and it turns out that my wife can also be included on the policy with her own car and once the kids are old enough we can have "family fleet insurance".
I really can't recommend fleet insurance enough, find yourself a decent broker and ask him about it, you'll save time and money, which as we all know are our two most valuable commodities.
