On the Charts - Billboard Country Singles & Albums
Make it three weeks in a row for Toby Keith, as his single, "I Love This Bar" remains at the top of the charts for another week, and his album, Shock'n Y'All also keeps the top spot.
Last week, I predicted a new No. 1 for this week, and thought that Pat Green's "Wave On Wave" was going to make the push for the top, however Rascal Flatts "I Melt" which lost its bullet last week and looked ready to start heading down the charts made a comeback and re-gained its bullet making it the next contender for No.
1. That is, unless "I Love This Bar" continues to get the spins to hold on for a fourth week. Pat Green's "Wave On Wave" has lost its bullet and most likely won't rise any higher than No. 3, which is still quite a feat for an independent label artist. George Strait's "Cowboy's Like Us" comes in at No. 4, and I wouldn't count it out to bid for No. 1 next week either. Rounding out the Top 5 is Montgomery Gentry, with "Hell Yeah" which is sure to move up next week as well.
Rising songs this week: "Remember When" from Alan Jackson moves up 7 from No. 24 to No. 17. Martina also moves up 7 with "In My Daughter's Eyes," which moves from No. 37 to No. 30. Gary Allan's "Songs About Rain" makes some big moves in its third week on the charts. It moves up 6 from No. 45 to no. 39.
New songs on the chart this week come from Marty Stuart, with "Too Much Month (At the End of the Money" which debuts at No. 56. The band 4 Runner releases "Forrest County Line" debuting at No. 59, and Keith Urban releases "You'll Think of Me" at No.
60.
On the album side of things, Alan Jackson's [link url>http://erclk.D106/?zi=1/Nd%5d]Greatest Hits, Vol II continues to hold onto the No. 2 spot, while two new albums debut at No. 2 and No. 3. LeAnn Rimes Greatest Hits debuts at No. 2 and Reba McEntire's Room To Breathe debuts at No. 3. Martina McBride's Martina rounds out the Top 5.
New albums this week, other than two aforementined from LeAnn and Reba include the Dixie Chicks Top of the World Live at No. 16, Hank Jr.'s I'm One Of You at No. 24, and while not new, Livin', Lovin', Losin': Songs of the Louvin Brothers makes its chart debut at No. 61, and Reba's 20th Century Masters: The Best of Reba McEntire The Christmas Collection debuts at No. 75.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for December 6, 2003.
