- 1). Use a cloth to clean the seat post and seat base. If the seat doesn't rotate freely, lubricate the seat post with petroleum jelly.
- 2). Use only a Rascal-approved charger to charge the battery of your scooter. If you used a charger that isn't manufacturer-approved, you may have damaged the battery. Replace a damaged battery.
- 3). Resolve brake squeals, which indicate dirt in the brake pad. Use an air pressure hose to remove dirt.
- 4). Examine wear on tires. Use a tape measure to measure tire tread depth. If depth is less than 1/32-inch, Rascal advises owners to replace the tire.
- 5). Examine the battery for a loose connection. The battery cables should be wired as follows: red wire of the cable to the (+) terminal of the battery; black wire of the cable to the (-) terminal of the battery.
