How to Troubleshoot the Canon Pixma MP750

    • 1). Make sure all cables and the power cord are securely connected. This includes the cables connecting your computer to your printer. Also check to make sure that the phone line is properly connected to your Canon Pixma. A poor connection could prevent you from sending or receiving faxes.

    • 2). Remove any paper jams. If there is a paper jam, you usually will receive a paper jam message on your Canon Pixma. Gently pull on any jammed paper from the paper output tray. Press "OK" on the printer once you have cleared the jam. To clear internal jams, open and raise the scanning bed and pull down the inner cover. Locate and gently remove the jammed paper.

    • 3). Delete previous print jobs to free up memory if you are unable to print or receive a fax. If your Canon Pixma runs out of memory, new jobs cannot be completed. To delete previous print jobs, press "Fax" on the front of the printer and then press "Menu." Use the "Left/Right" arrows until you select "Memory Reference." Press "OK" twice to delete all print jobs that remain in the queue.

    • 4). Change display properties if you are having problems retaining the color of your scanned documents. To do this, enter "Display Properties" and set the display colors to the highest possible setting.

    • 5). Turn off the Canon Pixma and disconnect all peripheral devices. This includes your computer and telephone line. Plug everything back in and turn on the printer. Try your print, fax, or scan job again.

    • 6). Restart your computer if you are having a problem printing or scanning with your computer. This may solve a problem that is not readily apparent.

    • 7). Perform a hard reset on your Canon Pixma. Press the "ON/OFF" button to turn off the printer. Unplug the printer from the wall and wait a few minutes. Plug the printer back in and try your print, fax, or scan job again.
