- 1). Soak the fabric in warm, soapy water for a few minutes. Remove the fabric from the water and gently scrape the Jet Glue with a butter knife to remove it.
- 2). Use acetone nail polish remover if the Jet Glue stain persists. Wet a cotton swab with acetone nail polish remover and dab it onto the spot.
- 3). Hold the cotton swab directly onto the glue spot for about 2 minutes. This will allow the acetone to penetrate the stain and help to loosen it.
- 4). Scrub the spot briskly with a toothbrush. The Jet Glue will begin to flake off. Repeat this process until all of the layers of Jet Glue have flaked off the fabric.
- 5). Lightly rub the glue spot with fine-grit sandpaper or an emery board to remove any layers that did not come off with the acetone. Avoid rubbing too hard, or the fabric may become torn or damaged.
- 6). Drizzle some laundry detergent onto the area of glue residue. Use your fingers to rub the laundry soap into the fabric.
- 7). Wash the fabric according to the label's directions. Inspect the fabric before placing it in the dryer to be sure that the glue is gone. Drying the fabric without removing all of the glue will only set the stain further, making it more difficult to remove.
- 8). Blot the stain with lighter fluid and a clean cloth if the glue is still on the fabric after washing. Scrub it with a toothbrush and launder as usual, checking the fabric before drying.
- 9). Repeat the process of dabbing acetone or lighter fluid onto the Jet Glue stain, scrubbing with a toothbrush and washing, until all of the glue has lifted.
