How to Drain the Fuel Tank on a Hewes Craft Sportsman

    • 1). Open the fuel filler outlet.

    • 2). Lower one end of the tubing from the siphon down into the gasoline tank. The siphon mechanism utilizes a basic hand-held pump that is set inline with a section of tubing. When you squeeze the siphon pump, suction is created. One end of the tubing will be inserted into the gas tank and the other end of the tubing will be set into a container that can be used for holding gasoline. As suction is created, gasoline will be drawn out of the tank and into the gasoline container.

    • 3). Lower the other end of the tubing into a container approved for holding gasoline.

    • 4). Activate the suction by squeezing the pump on the siphon. You should start to see gasoline being drawn up out of the fuel tank.

    • 5). Drain the fuel into a container made for storing gasoline.
