A Tool to Control Blog Spam

One of the biggest challenges many bloggers face today is he growth of blog spam comments.
By that, I mean people looking to put a link back to their webpage on your comment section.
Many WordPress bloggers have been using a program called Akismet to help halt spam.
However, I found that plugin to be sort of like a screen door on a sub, does not really work all that well for spam.
So, relax fellow bloggers.
Help has arrived.
How to Spot Blog and Comment Spam Usually, you can easily ascertain that the writer/spammer has not read your article because the comment is always a general, "hey, I really liked your article, keep up the good work," sort of comment.
If you look carefully, you'll then notice the code, something like http://mywebsite.<br/>com ...
and a lot of other code.
It didn't seem to be a problem for me until recently but then I began getting a dozen of those blog spam comments per day.
If you have email accounts and a blog you can easily see how this just adds one more thing to delete to your workload day, not to mention the frustration of someone who is too lazy to actually leave a real comment.
Add that to the fact that who wants a link to an adult site on their business of family oriented blog and you can see how problems can quickly develop if you are not paying attention.
For social media practitioners this can be a huge headache since deleting these from a number of blogs and websites can take a LOT of time.
Help to Control Blog Spam Has Arrived Notice I said until recently.
That is because a friend of mine alerted me to a great WordPress plugin that will almost completely stop this spam faster than the time it will take to say, "Thank you, Scott.
" Called Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin, this plugin has pretty much eliminated my blog spam problem...
until the spammers figure out yet another way to beat it.
Prior to the installation of this plugin I was receiving about 5-7 bogus commentsa day, usually of the, "nice article and keep writing these things...
" that never really referenced the article itself and contained code backlinking to their website (usually some type of adult website).
Since then, my spam has been reduced by about 92 percent.
Simply go into the plugin section of your WordPress plug on your main administrative page and you can type in the word Growmap and you'll quickly see the search comes up with the correct plugin, the Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin.
If you practice social media or social media marketing at all, this is a must plugin on your blog.
Good luck.
