Madison Campground, Yellowstone NP, Wyoming

I found out about this campground on the national parks map, and I tent camped there in September 2008.

Describe your camping trip:

This was one of the worst campgrounds I have ever stayed in. The decent available tent sites were limited, because reservations are accepted. Most of the sites are interior, in the sun and only 10 feet apart. We could easily hear the campers next to us snoring in their tents.

The campground staff was snooty and not very helpful. Wood was more expensive here than anywhere else we stayed.

Pros: There is ample access to the nearby river, if you are a fisherman.

Cons: see description

Nearby attractions: Yellowstone National Park

Further comments: We left after one night and moved to Norris, which was much better.
