Whale Protection Is The Urgent Task Of The World

Some whale species are listed by the International Union for Conversation of Natures Red List of Threatened Species.
They are sei, blue, sperm, fin, northern right whales, and several sub-populations of the humpback whales, even Oceania populations and Eastern Australia whales.
Today, the number of these whales is low because they are at risk of extinction.
Scientists can be based on the scientific tools to count their population every year.
That is the reason we know these species are on the level of threats.
Definitely, there are lots of the species possibly need to be protected.
If you love environment, and often read its relevant news, you know that the revolution of recovering the whale populations from historic overexploitation has yet to be completed.
Some species and populations show signs of recovery whereas others show no signs of improvement in spite of a complete bar on commercial whaling for 25 years.
These female species have a slow reproductive rate to give birth to a calf in a few years.
With the increasing number of the threats to mammals,it may be difficult to ascertain whether the mammal populations are increasing, whether they are remaining steady or even reducing.
Around a million of the whales worldwide have been killed since whaling fleet emerged in the 17th century.
This is the important issue that impacts on the whale populations and the significant changes of ecological role within the immense marine environment.
Mammals are the keys to the ecosystem, play a crucial role in nutrient cycle, and are usually considered as an indicator of the ecosystem health.
It is unclear to accurately determine the affection of the nature and extent that climate change or the other environmental issues will influence on the whale populations next years.
Thus, the responsibility for protecting whales has been delivered momentous economic benefits, particularly from non-consumptive activities like whale-watching.
This activity is growing worldwide, and bringing a large amount of income to the industry.
That is the great way to preserve the rare whales.
Breaking The Rules However, Japan broke the rules.
As we know, this country has a long history similar to many nations.
That is the reason why the world suggests Japan complying with the research of whaling programs of International Whaling Commission (IWC).
Japanese whalers hunted whales without informing IWC.
It means that Japan doesn't cooperate with the ban of IWC in good faith, also doesn't respect the international obligations which have been approved for decades.
Japan's mammal hunting is mentioned during the international moratorium on whaling within the international whale sanctuary, when the international organization calls for Japan fleet to cease killing the whales.
No scientific justification uses research programs as a reason for continuation of commercial whale hunting in IWC's blatant defiance.
And no industrial, cultural, or nutritional justification undermines whaling restrictions set up from international conventions.
The whale hunting is cruel.
Every year, Japan, Iceland, and Norway kill over 2000 whales to trade whale products.
That must STOP.
If any individuals or groups don't comply with the IWC whale agreements, Sea Shepherd has taken action to stop their ongoing defiance of IWC to rescue the whales.
