- 1). Set a clothes dryer to the low-heat or "delicates" setting. Wet a small towel and toss it in the dryer with the clothing item for approximately 10 to 15 minutes to remove the wrinkles. Avoid using a higher heat setting, as it can damage or burn the material, particularly if it contains screen-printed designs.
- 2). Turn the hot water to the hottest setting in your shower. Hang the item on a clothes hanger and hang it from the shower rack. Leave it in the bathroom for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The combination of the humidity and steam should knock the wrinkles out in no time.
- 3). Flip the item inside out. This is particularly helpful if the item contains iron-on or screen print designs. Lay it flat on an ironing board and place a pillowcase over it. Iron the jersey, shorts or other mesh item on the lowest heat setting. Use short, quick movements to avoid overheating or burning the item.
- 4). Mix one teaspoon of fabric softener with one cup of water and add it to a spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the clothing item to help release the wrinkles. Let it air-dry for about 15 to 20 minutes.
