Do You Have Acid Reflux and Don"t Want to Go to the Doctor?

Everyone has a little acid reflux from time to time.
The stomach has a small opening at the top called the lower esophageal sphincter.
After food passes into the stomach area, it is suppose to close.
Often it doesn't close completely and allows food to go back up into the esophageal area.
That causes the burning pain that people often experience after eating.
Many describe this uncomfortable feeling as chest pain and it is sometimes hard to distinguish acid reflux pain from a heart attack.
The person who has this problem more then twice a week could be said to have Acid Reflux disease.
There are many prescription and over the counter drugs that are used to treat these symptoms.
Many of them work well, but some people would rather use a home remedy if at all possible.
Many things work for different people and it is often a trial and error method of finding one that will work.
Never try anything unsafe and if the symptoms continue or you can find no relief then it is time to check with you physician.
Some popular home remedies for acid reflux can be easy and simple to try.
Decaf coffee has help some people with this problem.
They drink a strong cup in the evening and the symptoms of the reflux completely disappear.
Adding cream and sugar does not make a difference.
Make sure it is decaf because the caffeine could add to the problem.
Baking soda is popular with some.
They put a couple of teaspoons of baking soda in a glass of cold water and drink it before and after a meal.
Vinegar can also be helpful.
Try a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar after a meal can often do the trick.
Most people think that it tastes bad and is uncomfortable going down so you could mix it with water.
Gluten and dairy free foods often help with the reflux.
Stay away from candy and sugary foods also.
Drink plenty of water.
It helps to make sure your system is cleaned out.
Stay away from soda and carbonated drinks.
They are very big offenders.
It can be hard to do for some people, but the results are worth the effort.
The carbonation can cause a lot of irritation and make the stomach area hurt from the pressure.
There are lots of different ways to help with acid reflux.
Try some on your own and see what works for you.
Never experiment with something that could cause further harm.
Use common sense and eat small healthy meals.
It is your body and you need to take care of it.
