- 1). Turn your shoes upside down and hold the first pair in your nondominant hand.
- 2). Place the Q-LOK wrench around the first spike to be removed. Turn the wrench counterclockwise until the spike begins to loosen.
- 3). Pull the spike out of the shoe. Repeat these steps until all the spikes have been pulled out of the shoes. Then do the same with the second shoe. For a stubborn spike, continue to Step 4.
- 4). Squirt a small amount of an oil lubricant, like WD-40, onto the base of the spike. Allow several minutes to pass to let the lubricant seep into the tread of the spike. Then place the Q-LOK wrench onto the spike and turn counterclockwise to loosen.
