- 1). Make sure that your BlackBerry device has a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card inserted into it. If your BlackBerry is making calls, it already has a SIM card. However, you can double-check by opening the battery panel and removing the battery. The SIM card will be pushed all the way into its slot with the gold contacts faced down. Reinsert the battery and replace the battery panel.
- 2). Turn on your BlackBerry device and navigate to the Address Book. (Press the "Menu" button from the main menu and it will take you the applications page. Use the trackball to scroll to and then click on the "Address Book" icon.) In the "Address Book" menu, highlight a contact and press the "Menu" button. Choose "Copy to SIM Phone Book." Do this for each contact you wish you transfer to the new phone.
- 3). Remove the SIM card from your BlackBerry device and insert it into your new cell phone. Turn on the cell phone and navigate to the address book. Click the "Menu" button and choose the option to import contacts from the SIM card.
