The Best & Easiest Way for Boys to Get Waves in Their Hair

    Sea Salt Spray

    • A sea salt spray can help you achieve beachy waves in under 30 minutes. Although a sea salt will work for most hair types, it's best for those with thicker hair. Fill a spray bottle with warm water, a few tablespoons of sea salt and a couple of tablespoons of olive oil (to protect your hair from drying out). Spray the sea salt spray on dampened hair, then let it air dry. For a more voluminous look, scrunch and mess up your hair with your hands as it's drying.

    Braid

    • If your hair is long enough, you can use braids as a way to add easy waves. Take a shower as normal, then towel dry your hair so it's damp. For very long hair, you can put your hair in one long braid; if your hair is about ear-length, you can put your hair in several smaller braids. Allow your hair to air dry while in the braids. Remove the braids when your hair is dry, then shake out the braids to reveal your wavy hair.

    Curling Iron

    • Most boys probably don't want to use a curling iron, but it can do wonders for making waves. For shorter hair, you'll need to use a smaller iron, like a 1-inch barrel, but those with longer hair can use a 1 1/2-inch barrel. Holding the iron horizontally (never vertically as that will give you spiral curls), curl up a small section of hair in the iron. Hold the hair in the iron for about five seconds, then release. Curl all of your hair, then brush out the curls with a brush to reveal perfect waves.

    Perming Rinses

    • If a perm is too permanent and time consuming for you, consider a perming rinse. These can be found at your local drug store or beauty supply shop. Follow the directions on the box carefully and apply the rinse to your hair. Allow several minutes for the reaction time, then wash the rinse out of your hair using warm water. Allow your hair to air dry. Although not as permanent as getting a professional perm at a beauty salon, perming rinses will last about 27 washes -- so make sure you're ready for a month's commitment to wavy hair.
