How to Hook Up a Comcast Cable Box to a TV and a VCR

    • 1). Connect the coaxial cable from the "Out to TV" jack on the rear of the Comcast box to the "RF IN" jack on the back of the VCR. Turn the metal coupler on each end of the cable clockwise around the external threads on the jacks.

    • 2). Insert the white, red and yellow plugs on one end of the AV cable into the color-matching playback or "AV OUT" jacks on the rear of the VCR.

    • 3). Connect the three plugs on the other end to the corresponding "AV IN" jacks on the back of the TV.

    • 4). Turn on the VCR and set the channel on the component to 3 or 4, depending on the model.

    • 5). Turn on the VCR to watch programming from the cable box or to record from the cable box to a videotape.
