- 1). Begin using 'please' and 'thank you' when you ask your son to do things for you as a toddler. Treat him as you would like to be treated. The more you say 'please' and 'thank you', the sooner your toddler will say it back to you and to others.
- 2). Cuddle your little boy a lot. Shower him with love and affection. Gentlemen give love. You cannot give love if you don't feel it for yourself. Hug and kiss your little boy every day to make him feel loved. He'll return the favor.
- 3). Omit foul language from your vocabulary and immediately let him know it is unacceptable talk. Gentlemen do not use dirty words. Little boys, however, repeat whatever their parents say. If you use foul language, so will they. Teach them at an early age that this talk is unacceptable.
- 4). Teach him to let ladies go first and to patiently wait in lines. A patient and courteous child will turn into a fine young gentleman. Even in line for the slide, let him know that ladies should go first.
- 5). Explain how other children feel when he does something mean or inappropriate. When your little boy learns empathy, he will begin to keep others in his thoughts when he chooses his actions. Gentlemen think about how their actions impact others.
