- 1). Pour 1/4 cup dishwashing liquid into a quart-size spray bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with cool water.
- 2). Shake the bottle to mix the dishwashing liquid and spray the cleaner onto the kick plates.
- 3). Wash the kick plates with a sponge, and rinse well with cool water. Dry the kick plates with a clean cloth or towel.
- 4). Dip a tooth brush into ammonia and scrub tarnished areas of the kick plates until the tarnish lifts. Wipe the ammonia off with a damp sponge. Dry the kick plates with a clean cloth.
- 5). Mix equal parts of vinegar, salt and flour into a paste. The amount used will depend on the size and number of kick plates you need to polish.
- 6). Apply the paste to the kick plates with a dry cloth and allow the paste to dry.
- 7). Buff the paste from the kick plates with a clean, dry cloth until they shine.
