- 1). Disconnect the wireless Bluetooth adapter from the Smart Board’s controller module.
- 2). Connect the Smart Board to your computer with the device's USB cable. Verify that the pens and erasers are in the pen tray.
- 3). Double-click the Smart software icon on your computer to open the software.
- 4). Click “Help” and select “Check for Updates.” Click “Update” to update your software.
- 5). Find “SmartFirmwareUpdater” and double-click it to run the application. You can find the application at one of the following locations, depending on your system:
Windows 64-bit operating systems: “C:\Program Files (x86)\SMART Technologies\SMART Product Drivers”
Windows 32-bit operating systems: “C:\Program Files\SMART Technologies\SMART Product Drivers” - 6). Follow the on-screen prompts in the “Smart Firmware Upgrade Wizard” to upgrade your firmware. Remove the USB cable when the update is complete.
- 1). Set your whiteboard up vertically. Click the “Smart Board” icon on your computer, then select “Control Panel.” Select “Smart Board Settings.”
- 2). Click “Hardware and Info.”
- 3). Select “Projected (Mouse Mode)” and click “OK.” Close the Smart Board control panel.
- 4). Remove anything that may be on the whiteboard in the area where the pointer sticks. Rub the screen with your fingertips in a circle around the affected area.
- 5). Attach a suction cup or piece of tape to the affected area and gently pull to detach the outer surface away from the inner surface. Feel for depressed areas on the screen. Use a suction cup or tape to restore any dents or divots you find.
- 1). Click the “Smart Board” icon on your computer and select “Control Panel.”
- 2). Select “About Software and Product Support.” Press “Diagnostics.”
- 3). Click “Report,” and select “Local.” Click “View.”
- 4). Verify that the voltage range under “USB Power” is between 4.06V and 5.60V. If it is lower, remove any USB extension cables you use, then connect your computer and whiteboard with one cable.
- 1). Click “Start,” type “services.msc” into the search box at the bottom of the Start menu and press “Enter.”
- 2). Find “Tablet PC Input Service” in the list. Contact technical support to address your problem if the option is listed. If it’s not listed, sign into Windows as an administrator.
- 3). Type "services.msc" into the Start menu's search box and press "Enter." Right-click “Tablet PC Input Service” and select “Properties.”
- 4). Select “Automatic” from the drop-down list next to “Startup type.” Click “Start,” then “OK.”
